Freedom of movement

In reference to article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Emmaus International promotes movement of people as a fundament right, along with an alternative governance of international migration that involves all stakeholders: states, local authorities, civil society and especially migrants’ associations, researchers and academics.

From the outset, unconditional welcome has always been one of Emmaus International’s core principles. This practice and world vision seek to enable each individual to find their place and live a dignified life, and are the only realistic response to historic, necessary and unavoidable human migration. Our communities around the world are the clearest example of this.
