In the South Lunda region of Angola, Associação Emaus Lunda has been a member of Emmaus International since May 2015. The organization fights against AIDS and provides sex education and literacy training. She campaigns for the Angolan government to give free antiretroviral treatment for people suffering with AIDS.
She also provides training to 40 women in dressmaking and is setting up a school to give the poor access to education. Building work got started in 2014 on three classrooms.
With the aim of self-financing these activities, the organization has a brick yard and uses land it owns for farming. They then sell their products to generate income. Emmaus Lunda also helps peasant farmers in the area and provides them with technical assistance.
