EMMAUS FIESSO

Organisation set up in 2000 and member of Emmaus International since 2003.

Emmaus Fiesso's 15 companions live in Villa Colognesi, a house belonging to brother Antonio Mario. They do traditional Emmaus community work: collecting, sorting, repairing and reselling goods at low prices in their second-hand shop, which is open 3 days a week. The Emmaus Fiesso community also recycles materials such as glass, iron and scrap metal. Furthermore, companions have the opportunity to take courses in IT and Italian, which are organised by the group's 25 volunteers. Furthermore, the Emmaus Fiesso community runs a night shelter for homeless people during the winter (providing information on social services, hot meals and warm clothing) and takes an active part in local networks working on the issue of homelessness.
