MOVIMIENTO EMMAÜS TRAPEIRO DE TERESINA

Emaús Trapeiro de Teresina, located in the Brazilian state of Piauí, was founded in 1997 and became a member of Emmaus International in 2014.

The companions of Emaús Trapeiro de Teresina carry out the traditional work of Emmaus communities: collecting, sorting and repairing goods, which are then resold at low prices. In September 2012, the community lost almost everything in a fire, but it gradually rebuilt itself and now focuses on recycling projects. The companions collect recyclable waste (packaging, metal, paper, plastic, glass, etc.), which they then resell.

This initiative creates jobs and provides a source of income for 18 families.
