Up to 20 companions live and work at the Emmaus Rzeszów community. They carry out the traditional activities of Emmaus communities of collecting, sorting, repairing and selling goods at low prices at two different second-hand shops. The shops are open from Monday to Saturday. The community also recycles electronic waste, scrap metal and wood. Emmaus Rzeszów has teamed up with a medical centre to provide addiction therapy. Mainly targeting people with alcohol dependency, the aim is to prevent social exclusion and improve community life. Emmaus Rzeszów also often takes on interns recommended and paid by local social services for six month placements.
