Organisation set up in 1997 and member of Emmaus International since 2007.
The 29 companions at Emmaus Greenwich carry out the usual activities of Emmaus communities: collecting, sorting through, repairing and selling goods at low prices at two different second-hand shops in Plumstead and Lewisham. The community estimates that, thanks to its collections, 360 tonnes of goods are saved from landfill every year - that's equivalent to 92 elephants! Emmaus Greenwich also makes regular donations to families with limited financial means.
