EMMAUS GEO

The group is based in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia in the far east of Europe, and operates mainly in the city's suburbs. It began operations in 2012 and was legally incorporated in 2015. Its first activities consisted of collecting clothes from private individuals, on the one hand to sell in a second-hand shop, and on the other hand to provide support to particularly marginalised populations in the east of the capital, in the form of clothing and food donations. The group supports around 300 families through its outreach activities. In 2017, the group was able to set up a community house, which for the time being houses women who used to be homeless. These women help to sort the clothes. The community house can accommodate five companions.

Emmaus Geo has been heavily involved in meetings of the Poland-Ukraine European Geographical Collective since 2015. It has been providing support through transporting goods and donations since 2018.
