The reparation system for the victims of abbé pierre is open through the CRR
Following the Abbé Pierre revelations, financial compensation for victims of sexual violence was approved by the Board of Emmaus International in 2024 and the General Assembly of Emmaus France in 2025.
The Emmaus Movement and the Conference of Bishops of France (CEF) then agreed to mandate to the Independent Commission for Recognition and Reparation (CRR) to listen to and support the victims of Abbé Pierre in a process of reparation.
A specific agreement was recently negotiated between Emmaus International and the CEF regarding financing these reparations. This agreement provides for distribution of those reparations between those two entities depending on where and when the acts took place. Since the Church of France did not wish to contribute to financial reparations for victims outside France, this will be assumed by the Emmaus Movement alone.
The system is open and people can contact the CRR as follows:
- Via the contact form on the website www.reconnaissancereparation.org
- By phone on Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00: (+33) 09 73 88 25 71
- By email: accueil@crr.contact
- By mail: Commission Reconnaissance et Réparation, 28 rue Lhomond, 75005 Paris – France
In accordance with its values, the Emmaus Movement continues to stand by and support victims.
