New contemporary art sale to support Emmaus International’s work

New contemporary art sale to support Emmaus International’s work

From 5 to 10 October 2021, in the legendary 59 Rivoli gallery located in the heart of Paris, Emmaus International is organising a large solidarity sale of street art thanks to the generosity of over forty artists.

For almost 10 years, many street artists have been following and supporting the Emmaus movement, whether at gatherings in Emmaus communities, the Abbé Pierre – Emmaus Centre in Esteville or during our World Assemblies. Several of them have travelled to meet our groups in Africa, the Americas and Asia. Today, once again, they have demonstrated their commitment to the Emmaus movement by participating in our next big solidary sale of street art.

Street artists for humanity

While the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic are having a lasting impact on the most excluded populations around the world, more than 40 street artists have decided to donate one or more of their works as an act of solidarity with our movement.

All the profits from this sale will go to the Emmaus International solidarity fund to be used for its activities that promote access to health and assist migrants who, all too often, no longer have access to their rights.

In the words of Patrick Atohoun, Chair of Emmaus International, “artistic expression is a way of denouncing injustice. Art and culture are therefore highly political and constitute an alternative means of expression to occupy the public space.” The future looks bright for this cooperation between Emmaus International and urban artists!
